OHD vision
Overton House Design is committed to supporting and celebrating local artisans, artists, craftsman and makers.
Rooted in the belief the most interesting homes evolve over time.
Our approach is down to earth, natural, holistic. We listen and intuitively guide through the design process.
With thoughtful contemplation we collect objects, custom design and make furniture, source unique and handmade textiles
and vintage pieces with character and quality.
Our intention is to create an environment that will resonate and connect with you emotionally, reflect your authentic self
and nurture your well-being with meaningful fulfillment.
OHD creates warm, livable and soulful surroundings with an artful blend of classic, eclectic and a modern sensibility.

OHD process
OHD digs in deep. We are curious listeners.
We explore through colour, texture, space, shape, light and scale what we feel reflects your authenticity.
We believe in individuality rather than duplication. Quality over quantity.
We feel when your space reflects a well told story, you feel connected, restored, a sense of calm.

Design Library &
Materials Research
Our materials are sourced from manufacturers who prioritize sustainable practices. We look for high quality weaves from century old mills, unique patterns, handmade, upcycled and reclaimed materials.
We shop locally sourced goods, vintage and small shops.

OHD Shop
OHD SHOP is a collection of handmade + vintage goods. Each piece represents a bit of history, culture or is made by hand. Appealing to ones senses and memory either through texture (tactile), colour and pattern (sight) or scent (raw material).
Each evoking a meaningful connection and alignment with ones well-being.

A Native Texan, Amanda Overton was born and raised in the style-centric city of Dallas and schooled in the beats of eclectic Austin, where she spent most of her time in the bookstores and the culinary arts community. She then pursued a career in the fine art gallery scene in New Orleans in the mid '90's. After living in the French Quarter sipping Ceylon Tea and researching local artist, she made the big move to NYC. Four years living and working in the city, traveling abroad, studying fine art and antiques, visiting every museum daily during lunch breaks, she decided it was time to move West to Pasadena, California. In 2005, she joined the local Los Angeles home furnishings brand, Cisco Home, as a lead interior designer. There she honed her skills in the true art of master craftsmanship and the fundamentals of scale and proportion in furniture design. Furthering her vision of sustainable practices in manufacturing working with natural, environmentally friendly materials and years cultivating her design aesthetic and building long term relationships she launched Overton House Design in 2018.
She loves long drives listening to George Harrison, Vashti Bunyan, Folk or Classical. Gardening, natural dyes, textile design, sewing, reading paper books or drinking tea with friends, sharing meaningful conversations alongside her three rescue cats and her little rescue dog Petunia.
